New insurance scheme for VIC events

In an Australia-first, the Victorian Government has announced it will introduce a COVID-19 Event Insurance scheme come December. Here’s what we know so far.

Wellington’s new conference centre on track

Tākina, Wellington.

Bookings have already started flowing in for Wellington’s new convention and exhibition centre, Tākina, opening in 2023.

Sitting across two levels, Tākina will host local and international conferences for up to 2,000 delegates, and will be a place of welcoming, learning and sharing.

Surrounded by nature views and green spaces, the centre is conveniently situated within walking distance to the capital city’s hotels, dining and retail precincts, and attractions, with the airport just a short drive away.

Designed with environmental sustainability front of mind, the venue is New  Zealand’s first convention centre to achieve the 5-Star Green Star Design certification from the NZ Green Building Council.

Meet iRoller by Pullman

iRoller by Pullman

Pullman & Mercure Brisbane King George Square has launched the iRoller – an interactive rolling robot that enables you to physically access meetings, site inspections, and social gatherings at the hotel, remotely.

With hybrid events now the norm and border restrictions still making travel difficult for most, the iRoller by Pullman is an innovative solution to incorporate into your event for guests that can’t physically attend.

Taking video calls to the next level, it puts the virtual attendee on a mobile base that can navigate and self-balance, allowing the guest to move around freely in real time once they have logged into the iRoller via laptop or tablet.

It really is the next best thing to being there in person and we’re all for it.
