Wine & Dine’m Catering moves to home delivery

News

The Brisbane supplier is feeding locals while giving back to frontline workers.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, Brisbane-based catering company Wine & Dine’m Catering has adapted its business to offer an express meal delivery service.

While feeding locals in isolation, the company is also giving back to the community through its initiative Superfood for Superheroes.

Here, we catch up with the Wine & Dine’m Catering team and find out how business is going:

What went into launching a delivery service and how quickly were you able to get it off the ground?

Fortunately one of our business streams was operating our online Express Catering service. In the first few weeks of the pandemic we were able to quickly adapt and supply home delivery options in the form of nutritious meals packages, wines and offer essential household pantry items.

How has the delivery service helped the business and staff at this time?

Our online offering allows us to stay connected to our customers and attempt to keep some of our casual and full-time labour force working.

We have found clients are using the service to stay connected with colleagues and friends and some are ordering multiple delivery destinations for virtual mornings teas and afternoon drinks.

Clients are celebrating anniversaries and birthdays at home and our gourmet meals and beverages provide a great alternative to the local takeaway offerings.

What can customers expect from the menus?

The Express menu caters to all tastes and offers a wide range of options, including special dietaries. Ingredients are locally sourced and prepared fresh and each meal comes with easy heating instructions.

A variety of Australian and international wines are available from the cellar of our venue ‘Baedeker’.

How is the business preparing for post-COVID-19 once restrictions are eased?

It has been essential for us to stay connected with our clients and industry. Being involved in the community and working with loyal customers and suppliers has allowed us to stay positive.

We have fortunately been able to reschedule all of our clients’ weddings to new dates and we are still taking enquiries for 2021 events during this time.

Honestly, we are taking it week by week. It’s a long road ahead, but with the support of the community, business and the government we are remaining optimistic.

Tell us about your community initiative Superfood for Superheroes?

Last month saw the launch of our community initiative, Superfood for Superheroes, in partnership with Super Advice Australia. Through the initiative, we have delivered 1000 gourmet meals to essential workers in healthcare, aged care and education across South East Queensland.

The response was phenomenal and other organisations have swiftly followed suit in expressing an interest in donating or receiving food packages.

We invite both individuals and businesses to say thanks. Companies donating $1000 or more also have the opportunity to personalise our packaging with their message of reinforcement and logo. Check out superfoodforsuperheroes.com.au to discover how you can get involved.
