Situated close to public transport and with parking onsite, the Hawthorn Arts Centre is conveniently located just 15 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD.

Retaining history

Hawthorn Town Hall was designed by architect John Beswicke in the Second Empire style and built in 1888 to house the council chambers.

After a multi-million-dollar refurbishment, the hall was renamed Hawthorn Arts Centre and opened again in 2013.

The combination of gorgeous historic architecture combines with hi-tech and modern facilities to create the ultimate unique venue for all manner of special celebrations.
