When hosting small meetings and events in Melbourne, there’s a chance you might not have considered one of the city’s leading venues.

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) may be famous for hosting big events, but day-to-day, the venue shines as a destination for small meetings and social occasions.

The experienced events team organises more than 750 events every year across a variety of spaces within the centre, so you know you’re in capable hands.

“Our specialist meetings and events team will work with you to make a big task smaller by supporting you through the event planning process every step of the way,” said Kate Abbott, MCEC manager meetings and events.

Hidden spaces

You might be familiar with MCEC’s large-scale ballrooms and exhibition halls, but some of the best-kept secrets are the venue’s smaller meeting rooms and event spaces.

Take for example The Clarendon Room, perfect for breakfast or lunch meetings with sweeping views of Melbourne and the Yarra River. Flooded with natural light, this space is ideal for boardroom-style meetings of up to 36 people or banquets for 80 people.

MCEC also features a range of small, medium and large meeting rooms, which are all flexible and well-equipped to host business meetings, boardrooms, cocktail functions and dinners.
