New look for Rydges Sydney Airport

News

Convenience and style collide in this refurbished hotel and conference venue.

Following an extensive refurbishment of its hotel rooms and public spaces, Rydges Sydney Airport now has a fresh new look.

As you step inside the hotel, you’ll be in awe of the stunning mural that frames the lobby, alongside Tasmanian oak timber, earth-toned rendered walls and Australian marble.

Located just steps from the international airport terminal, the hotel’s 318 guest rooms have been given a complete overhaul with modern amenities, iconic Sydney artworks and free Wi-Fi.

The rooftop event space also has a fresh new look and capacity for up to 190 delegates, while the dedicated conference facilities on level one offer a variety of spaces each coming together in a new pre-function area.

Ascot Restaurant

As part of the refurbishment, Rydges Sydney Airport has unveiled a new restaurant concept and lobby bar overseen by new executive chef formerly of Gowings, QT Sydney.

The Ascot restaurant is a contemporary space featuring lounge and bar seating, share tables and an area that can be sectioned off for private dining.

The all-day dining menu offers Australian cuisine and locally sourced ingredients, and is divided into small and large plates, grill items and dessert.

Located on the ground floor, Smithy’s Bar is open from 4:30am until 11pm, serving up barista coffee for the early risers and an extensive international wine and beer list for those in transit, plus breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.

Rydges Sydney Airport general manager Joanna Carruthers said the hotel is excited to unveil the two new dining concepts.

“Airports are increasingly becoming destinations in themselves; whether it’s a place to say goodbye to love-ones, a place for a quiet drink to kick off a holiday or a place for business travellers who need access to quality accommodation, services and facilities at all hours of the day,” she said.

“We aim to cater to the diverse needs of our guests with gourmet meals, share plates and a designer cocktail menu which has been carefully curated using Australian sourced ingredients – all just minutes from the international airport check-in counters.”
