Tasked with creating an outdoor tropical event for an incentive group, Mercure Gold Coast Resort rose to the occasion with a festival-style soirée to impress guests.

Utilising their large outdoor space, The Green, the venue constructed tipis, stages and food stalls to create multiple event precincts.

What was the overall look and feel of the event? 

The event had a very tropical feel inclusive of fresh fruit, large palm fronds, tropical themed inflatables, tipis and bamboo style furniture. White was the main colour palette with lots of bright items to make it all pop.

It looked like a mini festival-style event with multiple food and beverage precincts, a main stage and even a Kombi keg. This was quite a large scale event with many operating elements to consider especially since it was an outdoor event so a wet weather back up was also vital.

Entertainment was provided by a live DJ and SAX player. Lighting was also crucial as it was an evening event. Fairy lights were utilised to really bring the while concept together.

What were the highlights of the event for the Mercure team?

Being able to assist with planning and executing such a large scale event in an outdoor venue with varying elements including temporary structures, furniture, weather, as well as power for all the facilities.

This was a great opportunity to showcase how versatile the function space is and what Mercure Gold Coast Resort can achieve as a venue. There was also the ability to create a WOW factor using amazing suppliers which really pulled the whole concept together.

What was the feedback from the client?

The company was impressed with our level of service and attention to detail, as well as the flexibility and understanding we displayed when working with the client and their concerns.
