Event in the spotlight: David Jones charity night

Event overview:

As part of a partnership with HOYTS LUX, David Jones chose to host an event to raise funds for charity partner The Smith Family.

Utilising all three of the venue’s HOYTS LUX Cinemas, the event began with pre-function drinks and canapes, before a private screening of The Beauty and The Beast.

HOYTS was involved from the event planning stages right through to execution, assisting David Jones with film selection, providing key artwork for their invitation and providing food and beverage.

The pre-function event in the LUX Lounge kicked off with speeches from David Jones and The Smith Family, as David Jones branding was displayed on the media screen within the room.

Entering the cinema, guests were greeting by a David Jones holding slide on screen, before a welcome video from The Smith Family was played, followed by the movie screening.

Popcorn and soft drink was delivered to each guests to enjoy, while a photographer organised by HOYTS was on hand to capture the memories.

What was the feedback?

Gemma Kingsford-Smith from David Jones praised HOYTS for the event.

“The HOYTS team were extremely helpful when organising our charity movie night,” she said.

“They spent the time to ensure the right choice of movie was selected for our employees, the assets for all comms materials were delivered in a timely fashion and helped solve any problems to ensure an outstanding event.

“The charity movie night was organised in a professional manner, the HOYTS staff ensured that all loose ends were tied up and went beyond the call of duty to ensure an excellently executed event.”
