A LIST Guide news round-up

Queensland has reopened and NSW will ease restrictions further this week. There's also a champagne shortage and a hot new venue that's opened + the latest issue of the event planner's favourite mag is out now.

Queensland reopens

For the first time in nearly five months, Queensland reopened its borders at 1am this morning to the rest of Australia.

Fully vaccinated interstate travellers can now enter the state quarantine-free as long as they can also provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken in the 72 hours prior to arriving in Queensland. Those travelling from hotspot areas such as New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia will be required to undergo a second test five days after their arrival.

Queensland is currently under Level 3 restrictions – ticketed venues can have 100% capacity with allocated seating, while the one-person-per-two-square-metres or 100% allocated and ticketed capacity applies to indoor venues.

From Friday 17 December 2021, patrons will be required to show proof of vaccination to enter certain venues and businesses.

Western Australia is expected to reopen its border in late January to early February.

New South Wales is sticking to its reopening roadmap, with further easing of restrictions on Wednesday 15 December. Density limits will be scrapped at all venues, QR check-ins will only be required at high-risk venues and masks will only have to be worn on public transport, at airports and on planes. Proof of vaccination will no longer be required.
