5 event styling trends for 2020

Styling trends

From vibrant florals to sophisticated all-white styling, these are five of our favourite event trends right now.

With a new year upon us, event planners are on the look out for new styling trends to incorporate into their 2020 events.

From floral arrangements to luxury touches and even DIY ideas, here are five of our favourite styling trends to keep in mind for your events:

1. Soft florals

Floral arrangements never go out of style for events, but the trending styles and colour palettes change every year.

This year, expect to see lots of soft, pastel floral styling. In this Instagram post by Tasmanian-based styling company Event Avenue, pink-hued roses are paired with a floral table cloth to really highlight the floral theme.

A simple scattering of tealight candles and a satin napkin bring the whole table setting together.

2. Statement colours

Vibrant pops of colour are set to dominate event styling trends in 2020.

Right now, we’re seeing a lot of yellow in events, especially in the form of statement floral pieces. Yellow florals are a great way to add a bright, springtime feel to your event.

Try adding them into a statement flower wall or a single yellow rose tied to your guests’ name cards. Adelaide Flower House has the right idea with these stunning yellow orchids:

3. All-white

While bold colours are on trend, all-white styling is another way to create impact for events.

All-white styling looks especially impressive for long-table dinners and lunches, creating a sophisticated and cohesive look that’s totally Instagrammable.

Melbourne-based Place Settings For Hire showcase how to create the look with white table and chairs, white crockery and natural-toned napkins and flowers.

4. Metallics

For cost-effective styling, grab yourself a few cans of metallic spray paint and your team together for a DIY day.

Spray painted flowers and leaves can add a sophisticated touch to any floral arrangement, and can be sprayed in gold, silver or rose gold paint.

Here, Darwin-based Fusion Exhibition & Hire Services show us how to add a metallic touch to event styling with their gold, spray painted monstera leaves.

5. Luxe chandeliers

Chandeliers, when executed well, never go out of style. Not just reserved for weddings, an intricate chandelier adds a luxury touch to gala dinners and corporate occasions, creating theatre and drama within the space.

Here, Chandeliers To Die For, showcases how chandeliers can form the centrepiece of an event.

The team says there are chandeliers to suit all events, from large hero pieces to vintage spheres and backdrops – there’s even outdoor options.
